シティライツフィルムスは、映像クリエーターの荒井犬太郎が立ち上げた映像制作プロダクションです。社名の由来はもちろん、喜劇王チャップリンの代表作『街の灯』。映画史上に残る美しいラストシーンは、この世界に存在する「善きもの」の象徴といえるでしょう。かつて盲目であることに絶望していた少女は、チャップリンの奔走によって得たお金で手術をし、視力を回復。しかしその事実には気づかされぬまま、現在は花屋の美しい売り子として人生を謳歌している。チャップリンが望んだのは、純粋に少女の心が救われることでしたが、一方で自らはその過程で囚われの身となってしまう。刑期を終えたチャップリンが街角の花屋で美しい売り子と再会を果たしても、かつて盲目だった少女は、そのことを知らないのです。“通りすがり” のチャップリンに売り子が手渡す一輪のバラ。ふたりの手と手が触れ合ったとき、その瞬間に生まれた「善きもの」の輝きこそ、チャップリンが “街の灯り” にたとえた、万人が等しく持つに違いない心の内なる光そのものではなかったでしょうか。どんな人にだって、内なる輝きは存在する。その光を、カメラのレンズを通して見つめていきたい。街の灯（シティ・ライツ）という言葉を社名の一部にいただいた理由です。

City Lights Films was found by Ken Arai who have been achieved many of visual contents mainly TV programs and documentaries. The name is, obviously, named after "City Lights" (1931) created by Charles Chaplin. Nobody doubt that the beautifully touching finale, is symbolized the goodness of life. Chaplin made an effort to collect some money in order to save a tragedy of a girl had been sick and almost blinded, depressed because of the little money. He succeeded, and arrested. Years later, Charlie unpredictably met the attractive girl seems like being openly enjoy the joys of young life in front of some flower shop on the street corner but she could not recognize him because of the fact that she had not ever seen him. The tramp, just released from prison, simply hoped her life goes well so he smiles with no regrets. The girl bring a single white rose to the miserable stranger to give it without any coins. The moment of touching their finger, reminds her what "the thing" is. Goodness of the world is here, I believe. The king of comedy outstandingly embodied it which reflected the "City Lights". Every person have such a goodness, and, we do hope to look at through the lenses.
